Lighting & Burning Wood Wicks

Lighting wood wicks: Lighting a wood wick is like lighting a small fire. It may take 2 or 3 times to light, so patience is required. Hold the flame directly over the wick until it catches. If it doesn't light the first time, be patient and keep lighting until it stays lit. Always use long gas lighters, or extra-long matches to light the wick.

For ease, we prefer lighting our candles with gas lighters, but if you dislike plastic, we recommend using extra-long matches.
Burning your candle: The first burn is important. Allow enough time for the wax pool to go all the way to the edge of the jar. This will prevent tunnelling and help the candle burn evenly. We recommend you always burn your candle this way with each burn. Allow up to one hour for minis and up to three to four hours for medium-sized candles for this to happen.
Relighting your candle: Trim charred ends with either a wick trimmer or gently remove it with your fingertips when the wick is cool. If the flame is weak, remove excess wax. Keep away from draughts.
Lighters and Matches: These are our preferences for lighting wood wicks.
