Lighting a wood wick -  When lighting a wooden wick, it is like lighting a small fire. It may take 2 or 3 times to light, so patience is required. Hold the flame over the wick and tilt the jar on its side, allowing the flame to travel up the wick. If it doesn't light the first time, keep lighting it until it stays lit. Always use a gas lighter with a long nozzle or extra-long matches to light your candle. 

Burning your candle - the first burn is important. Allow enough to for the wax pool to go all the way to the edge of the jar. This will prevent tunnelling and help the candle burn evenly. For mini candles, allow up to one hour, and for medium-sized candles, allow three to four hours for this to happen. Before relighting, trim any charred ends with a wick trimmer or gently remove it with your fingers when the wick is cool. If the flame is weak, remove excess wax. Keep the candle away from draughts.
